Psychologist

Location:South Portland, ME

Description:

Spurwink Services is looking for a full time psychologist (32-40 hours) to provide comprehensive evaluations to children affected by traumatic stress and/or who are struggling with emotional and behavioral difficulties. The Center for Safe and Healthy families is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals including: psychologists, social workers, child abuse pediatricians and nurse practitioners. In addition to psychological evaluations the Center also provides child abuse evaluations and evidence based treatment. Weekly peer supervision with psychologists available.

Duties:

The primary function of this position is to provide comprehensive evaluations of children presenting with a range of behavioral and mental health issues. Additionally, the psychologist will work with program nurse practitioners to complete evaluations for children that have newly entered foster care, identifying the child’s medical and mental health needs and assisting providers with appropriate treatment. Participate in multi – disciplinary meetings Collaborate with providers.

Qualifications:

Doctoral level clinical, counseling, or school psychology degree, Maine licensed or license eligible. experience with children and child welfare preferred.
