Looking for an exciting and rewarding career helping others? Spurwink is pening a new 16 bed residential treatment facility in our Greater Portland Program and is looking for a full time Unit Director. The program provides a treatment intensive environment for children and adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and/or developmental disabilities. The unit director works as part of a treatment team made up of professionals with years of clinical experience to design and implement evidenced-based interventions. This fun and challenging job is best suited for individuals who crave a fast pace, dynamic environment.


Unit Director are responsible for the administrative oversight of our community based residential treatment unit. Overseeing of day-to-day programmatic functions; and working collaboratively with the Program Director, Associate Program Director, clinical team, Unit Supervisors, and staff as part of an integrated administrative team providing oversight to the program. The unit director will be responsible for managing staffing andscheduling. Strong communication skills are necessary as the unit director will have frequent contact with families, guardians and other treatment team members. The unit director will work to ensure all documentation is accurate and timely, and licensing expectations are met. The unit director will coach and train staff, and work to provide a positive milieu environment. Strong team and group management skills are essential, as part of the unit director’s role includes leading meetings and activities based programs for both staff and residents.


Duties require knowledge equivalent to completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and 3 experience. Two years experience in a similar clinical setting and 2 years of administrative/supervisory experience required.
